Why is the child off the Pro-Life “love list” as soon as its born? (What about the ones already here)?
I hate to split hairs, but wouldn’t all this loving “joy of creation” and “we have the gift of life – look its ALIVE” type of energy be better spent….
Looking after the kids who are already here?
Hey look a desperate unwanted child made it to term. How can we clothe it, educate it and help it to lead a life free from hunger and misery?
If pro lifers actually put their MONEY AND TIME into doing this, they might have more credibility to me at least, than they do by blowing up med clinics, harassing vulnerable pregnant women and sending threats to doctors.
Shouldn’t we put our energy and resources into looking after the desperately vulnerable kids who are ALREADY HERE, instead of intervening in womens rights to determine what happens inside their own bodies?

My mother is actively “pro-life,” but as you suggest, rather than using her time and finances to simply write letters or boycott clinics — um, much less blow them up LOL (seriously not the goal of most people I’m familiar with) — she instead puts those resources to good use actually HELPING young mothers or others facing unplanned pregnancies, both before and after the child is born.
The local center she supports is available for free pregnancy testing, counseling, contraceptives (yes, they’re not the “Bible-beating” no-sex-is-the-answer sort LOL), maternity clothing, job placement (if needed) and prenatal health care, not to mention access to reputable local adoption agencies, if desired (usually open adoption), and/or resources for the family well after the child is born (at least the first few years, but it’s really up to the mother). These might range from simple newborn essentials — diapers, clothing, food and new, safe nursery items (crib, car seat, etc.) — to, again, job placement and childcare services to keep the mother on her feet, so to speak.
And honestly, I think that’s likely the sort of contribution most who do consider themselves pro-life seek to make. It’s a shame that only the handful of lunatics who DO try to bomb a clinic or shoot a doctor are the ones getting any attention, because I assure you, my mother and the thousands of other “normal” people out there are not nearly of the same species. LOL
However, your argument seems a sensible, well-thought-out one, so I seriously doubt even you believe it. After all, surely someone so intelligent and full of progressive thought couldn’t be fooled by the snippets of extremist behavior that manage to make the morning news.
