Why would I have to pay a lease termination fee?
I turned in my 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee to Suburban Chrysler Jeep in Novi, Mi. last week, right on time, even a few days early.
It was in perfect condition, with 8000 less miles on the vehicle than what was allotted.
I even had the Jeep detailed before turning it in..
At the time of turn in, the inspector gave me a sheet which listed NO DAMAGE at all.
He even said to me, what great shape the Jeep was in.
He even put a sticker on it that read “This vehicle not for sale”.
Which leads me to believe it is being held for someone.
The following week, I got an invoice for $425.00 for a lease termination fee.
I am astounded.
I called Chrysler and they told me it is because I did not buy or lease another Chrysler vehicle at the time of turn in.
I am completely stunned that Chrysler would stoop to such a low.
I don’t feel that I should have to pay this.
Do I have any recourse?

Check your original lease paperwork. If it is not in that paperwork in the original agreement that you signed, tell them to stuff it. If it is in there, however, you gotta read the fine print. Good luck!
