When looking online for home business opportunities, you would certainly come across hundreds of multi-level marketing, or MLM opportunities. With multi-level marketing, you aim to build a network of distributors and or customers, who in turn create their own distributors/customers, who then repeat. With multi-level marketing, you can make money through two main ways, 1. Customers purchase products or services through you and 2. You recruit distributors into the business who in turn sell and recruit.
When someone purchases goods and services from you, you will receive commissions for the sales. The old style Multi-level marketing is a great socializing platform, where you are continually meeting and talking to new people. At the other end of the scale, we now have Internet multi level marketing! With this style of mlm you can literally build an incredible business without ever talking to any customers or distributors. The old way of mlm is ideally suited to confident, outward people, with the new style of mlm, ANYONE can become involved.
When you start looking for people to recruit or sell your goods and services to, then you first need to know your company and products inside and out, along with a full understanding of your target market. For instance, if your company is all about beauty products, your target market will not be professional mixed martial artists! You will need to find out the age group of the people interested in your products/services, male or female, where they hang out, ie, online forums, fitness clubs, etc. You then match the right people to your opportunity and products.
You MUST have a multi level marketing system, because next comes attraction marketing where you only attract the right people to your multi-level marketing products or opportunity. You will need to discover how much this age group is willing to pay for certain products and services. This way, you can better direct your marketing strategies and you can reach out to your target market faster and more accurately. By building blog networks, interlinking, using articles, press releases, video, etc, etc. Today the term internet multi level marketing is being used more and more.
You can simply sell or more importantly, recruit, which is where the mlm business model really excels.When you recruit someone into your business, every time that person makes money, you make commissions. This should mean that you do not have to recruit a large number of people into your business downline. But this is where many network marketers go wrong, they believe everyone they recruit will be as driven as they are, but unfortunately in multi-level marketing there are very few big business builders, most people are looking for an extra few hundred dollars a month and the thought of working really hard doesn’t appeal to them. The people you really want to recruit are the people who are as driven as you are, and have the desire to succeed. They should be willing to spend time, not money, which is contrary to the traditional mlm business model. Many of the so called top opportunities are more interested in selling you tools, books, dvds, etc, than they are in showing you how to build your home based business properly.
So what is the best and fastest way to build a home based mlm business? Well mlm companies have for years, proclaimed the importance of leverage, they say recruit three people, then they each recruit three, and so on and so on. Sounds really good, but it simply doesn’t happen like that. They then say make a list of your friends and family (shock horror), you then need to show them a presentation and sell, sell, sell, but they say you won’t have to sell hard because OUR opportunity really does sell itself!!!!!!!! Yeah right.
I know this is just my opinion, but forget the old mlm techniques, internet multi level marketing is where it’s at!
