Pyramid schemes – What is the difference between legal and illegal ?
I had a friend try to recruit me to sell Prepaid Legal Services, and they said it was a “Legal” pyramid. I’ve often heard the term “multilevel marketing,” as a better sounding term.
What is the difference ?
I went to one of these meetings, and it seems like these people eat/sleep/drink prepaid legal – it would just totally consume their life. I read here on Y/A someone had the service, and still had to pay a lawyer $2,000
Pyramid schemes are Illegal in many states.

Edit: A legal way around this is paying a structured payment or settlement to it’s members who are documented.
A service also has to be performed there by establishing a form of compensation for the flow of received payments to the Group or organization.
