Can I buy 2 skype phones in UK, and take one to Hong Kong?
I want to make use of the unlimited skype calls that 3 is heavily marketing at the moment. If I am in Hong Kong and want to talk regularly with a friend in the UK, can we both use 3 Skype phones bought in the UK?
I understand both UK and Hong Kong have unlimited Skype phones available, but I would like to buy BOTH phones in the UK before leaving. Will this work?
p.s. I understand that 3′s “Like Home” tariff has been withdrawn, i.e. you can’t use your normal free minutes abroad on sister networks any more. But I don’t think this would affect Skype minutes, would it?
3′s customer service and even sales people are helpless. Some of them don’t even know about Skype is free on 3 PAYG now. So I was hoping I could find some users with knowledge of 3′s tariff here…
There would be a charge for the 3 phone being used in hong kong, but if you buy a skype phone in hong kong and then leave the one bought in the uk, in the uk. Then the person in the uk would be able to ring your hong kong skype phone for free.
