“Unidentified Network” Windows Vista Help!!!!!?
Okay. so my parents are currently on a trip. so i am at my grandmothers house and i unplugged the ethermet cable from her computer and pluged it into my “Sony Vaio”, At home this works fine and i can connect to the internet fine. Usually i go over Wifi but she doesnt have it here. so i am just going through local area connection. Now, When i plug it in at first it says, “Identifying…” then after about a minute it says,”Unitentified Network” “Local Only.” Now. this only seems to happen on my vista computer. Just when i seemed to think Vista couldnt get any worse… Because on her computer that runs xp works just fine. So i have been on her computer searching for ways to fix this. Cut nothing seems to work. Could someone please help me!!!!
right click and choose diagnose, it is pretty good on Vista.
If that does not help check if you have a dynamic or static IP assignment, if you have it static then change it to dynamic. Check if she is able to connect to the internet.
